Ramyug is an original MX series of epic-action-fantasy-story in Indian Hindi. Directed by Kunal Kohli and produced by Ravina Kohli & Niharika Kotwal under the R. R. Films banner. (10) Ramyug Story / Plot:
Rama, prince of Ayodhya, won the hand of the beautiful princess Sita but was exiled with her and her brother Laksmana for 14 years due to the conspiracy of his stepmother. In the forest, Sita was kidnapped by Ravana, and Rama, with the help of Vayu’s son Hanuman, gathered an army of monkeys and bears to search for her. The allies attacked Lanka, killed Ravana, and rescued Sita. After the couple’s triumphant return to Ayodhya, the righteous rule of Rama (Ram-raj) inaugurated a golden age for all mankind.
The poetic stature of the epic and its wonderful story means that the story of Rama has been constantly told by some of India’s best writers in both Sanskrit and regional languages. It is one of the staples of various dramatic traditions, in court dramas, in dramatic dances, and in shadow puppet theaters. In North India, the annual Ram-lila or ‘Rama-play’ is performed in the fall festival of Dassehra to celebrate with Rama and Sita the eventual triumph of light over darkness.
Ramyug, the latest visual interpretation of this ancient text, seeks to bring modern technology closer together in a way never before used to narrate the epic.
