Soorarai Pottru is a dramatic action film in the Indian Tamil language. Directed by Sudha Kongara and produced by Suriya & Guneet Monga under the banner of 2D Entertainment & Sikhya Entertainment. The film features Suriya, Paresh Rawal, Aparna Balamurali, Urvashi, and Mohan Babu in the lead roles. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the film was not released in theaters and aired worldwide on Amazon Prime on November 12, 2020 [India].

Soorarai Pottru will star Suriya and Aparna Balamurali in the lead roles and the film’s soundtrack and soundtrack will be composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar. The cinematography of the film will be directed by Niketh Bommireddy, while Sathish Suriya will act as editor. The film was inspired in part by events in the life of Simplify Deccan founder G. R. Gopinath.

The story was conceptualized and written by Kongara. The script was written by Kongara and Shalini Ushadevi, with an additional script by Aalif Surti and Ganesha, and Vijay Kumar writing the dialogue. The film stars Suriya, Paresh Rawal, and Aparna Balamurali with Urvashi, Mohan Babu, and Karunas, among others, in supporting roles. The film’s theatrical release was postponed multiple times due to post-production delays and the COVID-19 pandemic. The film was scheduled to premiere via Amazon Prime Video on November 12, 2020, coinciding with the eve of the Deepawali festival, after being pushed back from the previously scheduled release date of October 30, 2020. It was released on 11 November 2020 simultaneously with their versions dubbed in Kannada and Malayalam under the same title and in Telugu as Aakasam Nee Haddu Raa.
