TOP 10 Most Peaceful Countries in the World

Posted on

Do you have any idea which are the most peaceful countries in the world? The concept of peace is difficult to define and measure. However, the word peace has been defined as the “absence of violence” by the Global Peace Index since 2006 and has attempted to determine what cultural attributes and institutions are associated with states of peace. The recent ranking made Iceland top the most peaceful countries, followed by Denmark and New Zealand. According to the Institute of Economy and Peace, Global Peace Index, below are the top 10 most peaceful countries in the world:

10: Belgium

Belgium

Judging by the Global Peace Index, little Belgium is one of the best places to live in Europe, as well as on Earth. Located in the heart of Europe, this wonderfully small country is home to some special places like Brussels. Belgium’s capital Brussels is home to the European Union and NATO. Belgium has medieval cities, beautiful town halls, majestic castles, and captivating natural beauty.

9: Sweden

Sweden

Sweden is ranked 9th among the most peaceful countries according to the Global Peace Index this year. Located in the extreme north of Europe, Sweden is one of the most beautiful Scandinavian countries in the world. The country has a low level of theft (only 9,000 a year) compared to the United States (around 350,000 a year).

8: Canada

Canada

With one of the best living standards in the world, Canada is at number 8 on the list of the most peaceful countries on earth. If you’ve ever been to Toronto or been near Niagara Falls, you can see why Canada is so amazing, clean, crisp, diverse, beautiful, and they all seem to get along.

7: Finland

Finland

Finland. Why don’t we love this beautiful country that Angry Birds brought us? Among my favorite places of all time, Finland considered one of the most peaceful and livable countries, which is not famous for its combative nature.

6: Japan

 Japan

Japan: one of the most culturally and traditionally fascinating countries. With the third-largest economy in the world, Japan is considered the happiest country in Asia. Japan is safe in many ways, has a low crime rate, and has no major conflicts with its neighbors.

5: Switzerland

Switzerland

Personally, I suggest that Switzerland should be among the most peaceful countries in the world that have low levels of violent crime. At the heart of the European Union, Switzerland is famous for its natural fascination. The country is known for its neutral behavior in regional, international, and global political affairs. The country maintains strong diplomatic relations with many other countries in the world.

4: Austria

Austria

The small landlocked country of southern Central Europe, Austria, earns a place on the list of the most peaceful countries for its position in international politics. Austria is doing very well. Without austerity. And it is not blamed as its neighbor Germany, for not saving Europe. So when it comes to peace and prosperity, Austria is in the top 10.

3: New Zealand

New Zealand

Since 2007, New Zealand has been consistently ranked as the best and most peaceful country in the world. With a small percentage of its prison population, limited military capacity, strong relationships with Australia, and down-to-earth hospitality, New Zealand is a wonderful country to live in.

2: Denmark

Denmark

Denmark ranks second on the list of the most peaceful countries in the world. Like New Zealand, Denmark and the rest of Northern European countries are consistently ranked as the best in business and security. Denmark is the most peaceful nation in continental Europe, despite being about the size of Massachusetts.

1: Iceland

Iceland

Iceland tops the list of the most peaceful countries on Earth. Without a doubt, the country is really a safe place to live. The country is so cold and so small, and that is why it ranks first among 162 nations. There are many things to do, despite being peaceful, the country has many attractions (both in people and in places). If someone really wants to enjoy the beautiful moments, they should go there.
